Thought of you today, and wondered how your race went. How exciting!

I can really relate to the emotions. My first (ever) half was March 7th (Disney Princess Half), a race I wasn't supposed to do after training for 6 months and then getting sick 2 wks before. (Recap post on rt margin of my blog), so I totally get the ups and downs you were feeling. Such a HUGE sense of accomplishment!

I'm over 40, diabetic, a super-slow runner, and a newbie, so 13.1 miles was a big deal for me, as it sounds like it was for you. So cool!

Anyway, congrats and big HUGS from Orlando! I saw your message on twitter re: bandaids/blisters. Glad those worked for you.

robin/orlando turtle runnerRobinLKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14012550439760563820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6662214563735996540.post-10074049087128659602010-05-09T22:04:06.186-04:002010-05-09T22:04:06.186-04:00OMG!!! I finished too. I'm so happy for you!...OMG!!! I finished too. I'm so happy for you! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one going through eight thousand emotions. When I crossed that finish line, I was almost in tears but I didn't want people to think I was nuts. So I held it all in. I still have to type my post race recap but it was VERY emotional for me. My DH and DS1 were right past the 13 mile marker...sounds like we may have finished at the same time. I wanted to finish in 2:30 but with that wind I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up--it was BRUTAL!!! I thought the track was AWFUL too. I hated that part. :) I finished in a little over 3 hours. But I did it. You are awesome...I'm so proud of you.

I'm doing a 5K on June 5th...the Out Run the Sun 5K...it's at 7 p.m. That's my next goal. I should have started small I guess. :) Congrats girl--you ROCK!!!!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00547916661256476162noreply@blogger.com
